Aromatherapy I

The application of pure essential oils promotes health and wellbeing. Attendees will learn about Essential Oils and “True” Aromatherapy; Explore the profiles of 18-20 Essential Oils; and Create an Aromatherapy Blend for a specific therapeutic benefit.

Lab fee of $20.00 paid directly to instructor the first day of class.

Aromatherapy Blending

Participants will learn the properties of several carrier oils and dilutions for therapeutic index and explore the profiles of 12 to 216 essential oils not covered in Aromatherapy I. There is a Lab fee of $20.00 paid directly to instructor the first day of class.

Introduction to Cranial Sacral

This course includes an overview of the Anatomy and Physiology of the Craniosacral System. We will discuss the relationship of the Cranisacral system with other body systems and will learn to perform several deep alignment and relaxation techniques you can utilize immediately including: still point, transverse fascial plane releases, and specific cranial bone releases. Participants will learn to monitor craniosacral rhythms, and will be able to perform a step-by-step protocol to facilitate balance with in the system.

Cranial Sacral II

Extending the content of Cranial Sacral Introduction, this session will explore the craniosacral rhythm and how the therapist can utilize this information to promote the body’s ability to heal.

Prerequisite: Cranial Sacral I

Hot Stone Massage

This class introduces modification of massage strokes utilizing heated stones and provides the student with techniques for working with “massage tools”. Heated Stone Therapy reduces the stress to the therapist as well as adding the benefit of additional softening of the tissues and added relaxation to the massage session for the client. Cold Stone applications and the application will also be included in this course.

Prerequisite: Minimum of 10 weeks of Massage Therapy training

Myofascial Technique I

This workshop will take you through the specific releases designed to decrease fascial restriction, restore motion, and eradicate pain. The releases will be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced by all participants. The weekend will conclude with a complete Myofascial Flow.

Prerequisite: Minimum of 34 weeks of Massage Therapy training

Myofascial Technique II

Extending the information learned at the introductory level, (Myofascial I is a pre-requisite) you will learn release techniques that are designed to provide treatments creating permanent structural change. Workshop participants will learn several new releases and have the opportunity to practice and receive each of the releases learned.

Polarity I

Participants will learn a gentle and therapeutic hand-on practice that balances the electromagnetic energy of the body. This workshop acquaints the participant with basic Polarity theory and Polarity anatomy. The Chakra System is introduced as well as techniques for balancing yourself and your clients. Also included  will be spiral energy current, the east/west flow energy, and the long lines of energy. Your experience will end with the sharing of a general one hour treatment.

Polarity II

This weekend expands on the principles of Polarity I (prerequisite) including the Elements and Polarity Anatomy. The primary focus of the week-end is the five elements, (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth), their energetic patterns as chakras, and their interactions.

Reflexology

In Reflexology you will learn how to apply this ancient therapy which will access the entire body through reflex points in the feet. You will learn specific points that reflex to the body’s organs to help yourself and others deal with stress while energizing and balancing the body. An introduction to Zone Therapy is also included. Participants use a variety of flows to energize, balance, and/or relax the body. Your experience will culminate in the exchange of a full reflexology session.

Massage Therapy Review Course

This course is designed as a comprehensive review preparing participants for the National Certification Exam. This workshop will include review of Theory and Technique; Anatomy; Pathology; and the aspects of Professional Development. This course is a must for those who have been out of school and want to increase their chances of doing well on the National Certification Exam.

Prerequisites – Graduate of a Massage Therapy Institution

Seated Chair Massage

In this one day workshop participants will be familiarized with the craft of using a massage chair. The session will address modification of massage techniques and body mechanics while developing a useable flow. Business ideas for marketing massage into the workplace will be introduced and discussed in tandem with how to market your personal practice to include seated chair massage. Participants will need to wear comfortable clothing and will need to be familiar with therapeutic massage in general.

Shiatsu I

In this workshop you will learn this Japanese healing art that is traditionally practiced on a mat on the floor. The intention of Shiatsu treatment is to balance the energy flow of the body by using a variety of techniques including pressure points along the meridians. These are acupuncture points that cab be balanced non-invasively with finger pressure. You will learn fourteen of these points and their indications for application. You will also learn body mechanics for floor treatment.

Sports Massage I

This workshop includes important aspects to assist the athlete in maintaining peak performance as well as support the healing process of a sport related injury. The primary areas of focus will include Sports Massage Pre and post Event, Compressive Petrissage, Compressive and many others. Bring lab clothes and twin sheets.

Sports Massage II

In Sports Massage II, the focus will be on assessment and specific techniques designed to work with athletes in training and during injury rehabilitation. Detailed attention will be given to body function, overuse syndromes, common overuse injuries, and prevention/rehabilitation. You will learn assessment and application of techniques for frozen shoulder, golfers elbow, tennis elbow, and knee and ankle injuries, as well as stretch and strengthen techniques for the therapist and client, and self-help stretch protocol for flexibility and scar tissue release.

Prerequisite: Sports Massage I

Table Shiatsu

This class adapts traditional Shiatsu techniques for use on a massage table. Participants receive additional information regarding meridians and meridian stretches. Range of motion exercises, stretches, and specific Shiatsu therapeutic techniques will be included. Participants will incorporate the new techniques into a complete flow.

Prerequisite: Minimum of 28 weeks of Massage Therapy training

Thai on the Table

This course adapts traditional Thai massage techniques for use on a massage table. Topics to be covered will include: Puja, Prayer & Spiritual practice, Basic Meridian Theory, Dosha types (based on Ayurveda), Energetic Concepts, and Posture & Body Mechanics. Participants will give and receive a complete Table Thai session during the course of the weekend.
