Aromatherapy I (16 hours)

This class is designed to introduce participants to Essential Oils and “True” Aromatherapy.  Explore the profiles of 18-20 Essential Oils, discuss a variety of application methods, and create an Aromatherapy blend for a specific therapeutic benefit.

Carpal Tunnel (16 hours)

This class will identify several ways to address Carpal Tunnel Syndrome including nutrition, stretching, and a treatment routine encompassing many different modalities.  Also covered are ways for the massage therapist to modify massage techniques to minimize stress to the wrists and make the bodywork easier.

Cranial Sacral Intro (16 hours)

Students get an overview of the Anatomy and Physiology of the Craniosacral System. We will learn to perform several deep alignment and relaxation techniques you can utilize immediately including:  still point, transverse fascial plane releases, and specific cranial bone releases. Participants will learn to monitor craniosacral rhythms, and will be able to perform a step-by-step protocol to facilitate balance with in the system.

Effective Treatments for the Upper Body, Lower Body, or Neck and Head     (7 hours)

These classes are developed by Garry Adkins who, after extensive training and research, has put together the specific treatments that are most effective in treating the most common issues in these body regions. These are one day workshops offered on three Fridays. Participants receive 7 CEU's per workshop attended. You can sign up for one, two or all three. You do not need to take them in order.

Hot Stone Massage (16 hours)

Introduces modification of strokes utilizing heated stones. This reduces stress to the therapist while adding the benefit of heat to the client. The result is a relaxing & rejuvenating session for the client. Cold rocks and their therapeutic application will be included.

Myofascial I (16 hours)

This course explores the theory and mechanism for connective tissue restriction within the body.  Many specific releases designed to decrease fascial restriction, restore motion, and eradicate pain will be demonstrated and practiced.

Polarity I (16 hours)

In Polarity I you will learn a gentle practice that balances the electromagnetic energy of the body.  basic Polarity theory and anatomy and an introduction to the Chakra System will be included, as well as techniques for balancing yourself and your clients including spiral energy current, the east/west flow, and the long lines of energy.  A complete one-hour general treatment will be demonstrated and practiced.

Polarity II (16 hours)

This weekend expands on the principles of Polarity including Theory of Elements, and Polarity Anatomy. The primary focus of the weekend is the five elements; Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, their energetic patterns as chakras, and their interactions.

Reflexology (16 hours)

This ancient therapy accesses the entire body through reflex points located in the feet. You will learn specific points that reflex to the body’s organs and can help the recipient deal with stress and energize and balance the body.  Participants are given flows to energize, balance, and/or relax the body.  This workshop includes the giving and receiving of a full, one hour, reflexology session.

Sports Massage I

This workshop includes aspects of massage that are important to assist the athlete in maintaining peak performance as well as support the healing process of a sport related injury. The primary areas of focus will include Sports pre and post event techniques, compressive petrissage, transverse friction and neuromuscular techniques.

Table Shiatsu (16 hours)

This class adapts traditional Shiatsu techniques for use on a massage table.  Participants receive information about meridians and meridian stretches as well as several pressure points.  Also included are Range of Motion exercises, and specific Shiatsu therapeutic techniques.  Participants will incorporate the new techniques into a complete flow.

Thai Massage I (16 hours)

This workshop provides an overview of Chinese Medicine Theory including meridians, five elements, and four divine states of mind. The basic concepts of Ayurveda are introduced. Participants will learn an entire flow that is practiced on the floor as well as to integrate stretching, movement, and compression while moving with intention.

Table Thai (16 hours)

Table Thai I includes applications of Thai Massage techniques that are modified for use on a massage table to create a unique healing experience. Some of the topics covered are spiritual practice, basic meridian theory, dosha types (based on Ayurveda), and posture & body mechanics. Students will practice this format in a one hour (plus*) session.
